User impact: Users may experience intermittent issues syncing policies and other data in various Microsoft 365 services.

More info: Syncing for Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies, label configurations, custom classifications, and tenant policy settings intermittently fail in clients leveraging the Messaging Identity and Provisioning (MIP) software development kit (SDK), such as the Microsoft 365 desktop clients, Microsoft Fabric, and Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection.

These policy sync issues also prevent user policies that have Safe Links enabled from being honored, which causes Safe Links to be disabled.

Current status: We’re continuing our efforts to test a code change and validate our theory that a recently deployed feature update is the source of impact.

Scope of impact: Any user expecting their DLP policies, label configurations, custom classifications, or tenant policy settings to sync appropriately for services leveraging the Messaging Identity and Provisioning MIP SDK may be intermittently impacted.
