More info: Syncing for Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies, label configurations, custom classifications, and tenant policy settings intermittently fail in clients leveraging the Messaging Identity and Provisioning (MIP) software development kit (SDK), such as the Microsoft 365 desktop clients, Microsoft Fabric, and Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection.

These policy sync issues also prevent user policies that have Safe Links enabled from being honored, which causes Safe Links to be disabled.

Current status: We’ve deployed the code change to a portion of the affected environment and confirmed through monitoring service telemetry that our fix restores the service to expected functionality. We’ve begun deploying the code change to the remaining affected infrastructure, and we anticipate this process will complete by our next scheduled communications update.

Scope of impact: Any user expecting their DLP policies, label configurations, custom classifications, or tenant policy settings to sync appropriately for services leveraging the Messaging Identity and Provisioning MIP SDK may be intermittently impacted.
