More info: This impacts devices that were inactive between Saturday, March 22, 2025, and Wednesday, April 9, 2025. The devices aren’t active though and are reported as active in the Microsoft Intune admin center.

Current status: We’re proceeding to reprocess the backlog of devices, and expect this to be completed by our next scheduled update.

Scope of impact: Impact is specific to some admins who are served through the affected infrastructure, checking the status of devices in the Microsoft Intune admin center. The problem impacts some devices that were inactive between Saturday, March 22, 2025, and Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

Root cause: An increase in device deactivations has caused a section of Microsoft Intune infrastructure to perform below acceptable performance thresholds, causing requests to update the device status in the Microsoft Intune admin center to queue, which gives the impression that the devices are still active in the Microsoft Intune admin center, when in fact they aren’t.
