As part of our routine device management services, we will deploy the next update of the Microsoft Managed Desktop configuration baseline (version 2304) to your Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) organization (tenant).
[When will this happen:]
We expect to start deployment on May 1, 2023, and for it to be completed by mid-May 2023, per the following schedule:
  • Test group: May 01, 2023
  • First group: May 03, 2023
  • Fast group: May 08, 2023
  • Broad group: May 15, 2023
[How this affects your organization:]
We will release the new configuration to your Test group and progress through your other groups (First, Fast, and Broad), as described in Microsoft Managed Desktop update management. To monitor this and other deployment statuses, visit the Microsoft Intune admin center.
Summary of changes:
  • Updated error handling for installation status events of Microsoft Enterprise apps . This will reduce the number of Exceptions returned in data.Diagnostic events gathered – success and failure status of Microsoft 365 Enterprise apps, installation without user status, installation with prompt status.
  • Removed scheduled tasks created by the ‘Microsoft Cloud Managed Desktop Extension’ performance plugin which was used to monitor critical hardware components (Thermal, Battery). This performance plugin is currently disabled and hence we are removing the remaining associated Scheduled Tasks.
  • Added assignment filter to target Windows 11 and Windows 10 devices separately. This will enable policies to be applied to the specific set of devices that match the OS.
  • Updates to Windows Update settings, add default setting values to fix “notConfigured” erroneous values.
    • Upgrade Windows 10 to latest Windows 11
    • Microsoft product updates
    • Option to Pause windows Updates
    • Option to check for Windows Update
[What you need to do to prepare:]
