As previously announced in April 2024, classic Microsoft Teams (versions earlier than 5.0) will reach end of availability on July 1, 2025. This change affects Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows and other Teams clients. To avoid service disruption, customers must upgrade to the latest Teams Rooms application, released with the new Microsoft Teams experience.

This message is associated with MC1091440 Reminder – Action Required: Classic Teams End of Availability by 7/1 (published June 10, 2025).

Our reporting indicates that your organization may still have Teams Rooms on Windows devices running the classic version of Teams. After July 1, 2025, these devices will no longer be supported and may experience degraded functionality or service interruptions.

You can use the Teams Rooms Pro Management portal to understand the devices in your organization that are running older unsupported versions of Teams.

The new Teams Rooms app includes performance improvements, enhanced security, and a modernized user experience.

• Ensure all Teams Rooms on Windows devices are updated to version 5.2 or later.
• Refer to the Teams Rooms on Windows release notes and lifecycle policy.
