We will deploy the update between May 29, 2023 and mid-June 2023, as follows:

• Test group: May 29, 2023
• First group: May 31, 2023
• Fast group: June 5, 2023
• Broad group: June 12, 2023

[How this affects your organization:]

We will deploy the update to your groups according to Microsoft Managed Desktop update management. Monitor this and other deployment statuses at the Microsoft Intune admin center.

Summary of changes:

• Change 1: Update Office apps and retire old language packs.
  • Task Name:
    • Remove M365 Language Packs. See MC548097 for more information.
  • Policies changing:
    • Update ‘Microsoft OneNote’, ‘Microsoft 365 Apps’, ‘Microsoft Visio’ and ‘Microsoft Project’ apps to change app notification timing to prompt installation during the installation phase instead of during the applicability check.
    • Remove 37 language pack ‘<Language> – Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise – Display Language, Proofing, and Authoring Tools’ and its group ‘Modern Workplace-Office-Language_Packs’.

• Change 2: Upgrade Microsoft Cloud Managed Desktop Extension
  • Task Name:
    • Upgrade ‘Microsoft Cloud Managed Desktop Extension V12’ to V13 with fixes:
      • Use 64-Bit msi for installation
      • Re-write installation script to handle failures, reinstallation and logging
      • Cleanup Pawn script and binary as its already disabled
  • Policies changing:
    • Upgrade ‘Microsoft Cloud Managed Desktop Extension V12’ to ‘Microsoft Cloud Managed Desktop Extension V13’
