[What and Why:]

Planner plans created from Teams meetings can remain unused long after the meeting ends. To reduce clutter and improve lifecycle management, meeting-created Planner plans with no task activity for 180 consecutive days will automatically expire and be deleted. Only the Planner plan and Planner-specific data are removed. Tasks in Loop and meeting notes remain intact and accessible.

Who is affected:

• Users who create or organize Teams meetings that generate Planner plans.
• Admins and support teams who help users manage or recover Planner plans.

Platforms/Services:

• Microsoft Planner.
• Microsoft Teams meetings.
• Loop and meeting notes.

What will happen:

• Planner plans created from Teams meetings will automatically expire and be deleted after 180 consecutive days with no task activity.
• Tracking starts at rollout and applies only to new meeting-created plans. Existing plans are out of scope.
• No plan can be deleted earlier than 180 days after rollout.
• Activity includes creating, editing, or deleting a task. Viewing or opening a plan does not count as activity.
• Meeting organizers will receive email notifications 30 days and 7 days before deletion. The email will list affected plans, the last-activity date, and a link to view tasks in Planner.
• Users can select Keep plan to retain a plan for another 180 days without editing tasks. A plan can be kept as many times as needed.
• If no action is taken, the plan is deleted on the scheduled date. Deleted plans can be recovered within 30 days through an IT admin request to Microsoft support. After 30 days, deletion is permanent.

To prepare, admins should:

• Inform users that meeting-created Planner plans inactive for 180 days will automatically expire and be deleted.
• Explain that advance email notifications will be sent to meeting organizers before deletion.
• Remind users they can select Keep plan in Planner to retain a plan they still need.
• Prepare support teams to assist with recovery requests during the 30-day recovery window.
• Reassure users that tasks stored in Loop and meeting notes are not affected by plan expiration.

• 何の対応も取られなければ、予定日内にプランは削除されます。削除されたプランは、IT管理者のMicrosoftサポートへの要請により30日以内に復元可能です。30日経過すると削除は永久となります。

準備のために、管理者は以下のことをすべきです:

• ユーザーに、プランナーで「 プランを保持 」を選択して、まだ必要なプランを保持できるようリマインドしてください。
• 30日間の復旧期間中に復旧要請を支援するサポートチームを準備させてください。
• Loopに保存されたタスクや会議ノートに保存されたタスクは、プランの期限切れによって影響を受けないことをユーザーに安心させてください。
