User impact: Users’ DLP policy approved email messages aren’t being delivered or are encountering delays in Exchange Online.

Current status: Our manual efforts to address the problem in the subset of affected databases is progressing, and some users may experience relief as the databases in their environment are repaired. We’re continuing our internal validations for our more permanent solution and expect to provide an updated timeline for its subsequent deployment once these validations have completed.

Scope of impact: This issue may affect any user attempting to send or receive email messages that require DLP policy approvals.

Root cause: A recent change introduced a regression which caused certain DLP properties to be incorrectly indexed. This resulted in our Event Based Assistants receiving a signal stating something critical is occurring when attempting to access the database to approve requests, resulting in restarts and impact.
