User impact: Users’ DLP policy approved email messages aren’t being delivered or are encountering delays in Exchange Online.

Current status: Our internal validations of the permanent solution continue to progress as we confirm it will sufficiently address the underlying root cause of the issue before we deploy it broadly. While this process continues, we’re manually mitigating the problem for a subset of affected databases as they are identified.

Scope of impact: This issue may affect any user attempting to send or receive email messages that require DLP policy approvals.

Root cause: A recent change introduced a regression which caused certain DLP properties to be incorrectly indexed. This resulted in our Event Based Assistants receiving a signal stating something critical is occurring when attempting to access the database to approve requests, resulting in restarts and impact.
