User impact: Users are unable to access their Exchange Online mailboxes through various connection methods.

More info: Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) and Post Office Protocol (POP) connection protocols are impacted, resulting in sign in failures including but not limited to the Outlook desktop client.

While we’re focused on remediation, users may be able to use Outlook on the web to access their mailboxes.

Current status: We’ve halted a recent deployment that was contributing to impact, however, we believe additional deployments or a authentication issue is potentially causing further impact. We’ve deployed a fix to remediate impact for some of our affected infrastructures, however, another fix is required to remediate the remaining ones. We’re reviewing infrastructure and service logs to help us develop the next fix.

Scope of impact: Users serviced by the affected infrastructure attempting to access their Exchange Online mailboxes may be impacted.
