A new capability is available to IT admins to better monitor key performance indicators (KPI) of expedited security updates. The new KPI card under Windows Update for Business reports shows the progress across all devices within the deployments that target the latest security update. A new article provides guidance to track each expedited update deployment, view alerts, examine the device state, and to query the logs. This feature is available starting June 28, 2023.

You might decide to expedite a security update to address zero-day vulnerabilities. If your organization uses or could use the option to fast-track the latest security update, you can now better monitor the progress. The new KPI (key performance indicator) card in Windows Update for Business reports is a gateway for you to track each deployment, view alerts, and examine device state.

If you already use Windows Update for Business deployment service, you can start using this capability today. To check for this card in your tenant, visit Azure monitor > Workbooks > Windows Update for Business reports > Quality update.
