User impact: Users recently migrated from Exchange Online to on-premises may be unable to send email messages.

More info: Impacted users receive a Non-Delivery Report (NDR) that references a “MaxSendSize” issue.

In order to correct the issue for currently affected users, admins need to do the following:

1) Run the command “Get-Mailbox -Identity | FT MaxSendSize” and verify that the value is 0.

2) If the value is 0, then run the command “Set-Mailbox -Identity -MaxSendSize Unlimited”, which should allow mail to flow.

Our fix deployment will only prevent further impact from occurring. The above process is necessary to fully restore mail flow for already affected users.

Current status: The deployment of the fix to address the impact caused by the offending change is continuing. We’re monitoring as it deploys to ensure it progresses as expected.

Scope of impact: Any user that was recently migrated from Exchange Online to on-premises may be unable to send email and may receive a NDR.
