To offer IT administrators more flexibility in customizing the experience for their organizations, Windows Autopatch now offers greater control over pausing and resuming deployment rings.

Additionally, Windows Autopatch has improved the Readiness Checks process for Conflicting Configurations, which helps organizations identify any registry configurations that may be preventing endpoints from receiving Windows Updates.

[When will this happen:]

Starting from August 21, 2023, customers can benefit from service improvements that enhance the pausing and deployment of rings. Additionally, beginning in early September, improvements to the Readiness Checks process will be available.

[How will this affect your organization:]

With the latest update, IT administrators can now perform the following actions for deployment rings:

1. Select multiple Autopatch Groups or deployment rings when executing a Pause or Resume.
2. When confirming a Pause, receive a list of all affected deployment rings.
3. Resume any deployment ring, at any time, regardless of who paused it.

During Readiness Checks, IT administrators now receive notifications in the Not ready tab if there are devices in your organization with conflicting registry configurations that could prevent Windows Autopatch and Windows Updates from functioning properly. The notifications include a list of alerts that explain why the device is not ready for updates and provide instructions on how to resolve the issues. You can review any device marked as Not ready and remediate them to a Ready state.
