More info: Instead of the expected error message, when users encounter a scenario where they’re unsuccessful in attempting to share files and folders, impacted users encounter the following error: “TypeError: a.indexOf is not a function.”

Current status: We’ve completed our investigation into this issue and determined that a recent code issue contained within a regularly scheduled service update resulted in a cosmetic issue, where users that are unsuccessful in sharing files and folders within SharePoint Online for any reason encounter an unexpected error message. We’ve begun rolling out a code fix to address the underlying issue and anticipate this process to complete by the time of our next scheduled communications update.

Scope of impact: Users attempting to share files and folders in SharePoint Online throughout all service environments are impacted.
