User impact: Users may be unable to export eDiscovery (Standard) cases from the Microsoft Purview compliance portal.

More info: While we focus on remediation, affected users may be able to export eDiscovery (Standard) cases from the Microsoft Purview compliance portal using PowerShell.

Current status: Our backend service log analysis has determined that the errors occurring within a section of compliance search service infrastructure were introduced by a recent update to the service. While we continue our investigation into why this service update resulted in eDiscovery (Standard) export problems, we’re reverting the recent change which we expect will remediate the impact. 

Scope of impact: Impact is specific to a subset of users who are served through the affected infrastructure.

Root cause: A recent service update has caused a subset of compliance search service infrastructure to drop below our manageable service performance thresholds, preventing some users from exporting eDiscovery (Standard) cases from the Microsoft Purview compliance portal.
