User impact: Users may experience latency when utilizing Microsoft Teams on newly provisioned Windows 365 Cloud PCs and get an error.

More info: When attempting to initiate Microsoft Teams, users may receive an error message which states that the WebRTC component isn’t installed.

This latency can also result in a poor Microsoft Teams experience, such as audio not being redirected, video quality being poor and compressed and not being able to utilize certain features, such as the react button.

The issue only impacts Cloud PCs using Win 11 22H2 or Win 11 23H2 builds.

While we work on this fix, impacted users can navigate to aka.ms/msrdcwebrtcsvc/msi to download the latest WebRTC MSI to mitigate the issue. This may take a minute to complete, which will interrupt Microsoft Teams if in use. We recommend admins or end users to run this when Microsoft Teams isn’t in use, or during non-business hours.

Current status: While we continue to work on the development of our fix, we’ve identified an additional method that organization admins can use to mitigate the issue, in addition to the user-taken action we’ve provided in the More info section. Admins can follow the instructions in the following documentation – learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/apps/quickstart-add-assign-app – to manually add the missing WebRTC component to any affected Cloud PCs while we continue to develop our permanent fix. We expect our fix will complete development, validation and testing, and be ready to begin deployment by our next scheduled update, at which time we’ll provide an estimate for deployment completion and impact remediation.

Scope of impact: This issue may affect any user on Cloud PCs provisioned after May 29th, and users may experience latency and receive an error when accessing Microsoft Teams.
