Current status: While we’ve confirmed that the majority of the impacted email messages have successfully been released from quarantine, a small portion of affected email messages require additional mitigating actions. We’re in the process of identifying and releasing the remaining affected email messages, and expect that this may complete by our next scheduled communications update.

Scope of impact: Impact is specific to some users who are expecting to receive inbound email messages that contain some URLs and are served through the affected infrastructure.

Root cause: A recent rule set change in our automated anti-spam procedure is incorrectly blocking email messages containing certain types of URLs. This change is causing inbound email messages to be marked as phishing and quarantined because some signatures are being flagged as malicious.
