More info: Affected users may have seen issues while using Single Sign On (SSO) applications. When authenticating with SSO, impacted users may have received a message stating, “Something went wrong… Authentication error”.

Final status: After a period of extended monitoring, we’ve confirmed with service health telemetry and previously affected users that reverting the recent change resolved the issue.

Root cause: Due to a recent configuration change, some service traffic routing data intended for specific internal endpoints became stale. When a SSO service call hit an affected endpoint, the request wasn’t successful and caused an authentication error for the user.
