As part of our routine device management services, we will deploy the next update of the Microsoft Managed Desktop configuration baseline (version 2303) to your Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) organization (tenant).

[When will this happen:]

We expect to start deployment on March 27, 2023, and for it to be fully completed by mid-April 2023, per the following schedule:

  • Test group: March 27, 2023
  • First group: March 29, 202
  • Fast group: April 03, 2023
  • Broad group: April 10, 2023

[How this affects your organization:]

We will release the new configuration to your Test group and progress through your other groups (First, Fast, and Broad), as described in Microsoft Managed Desktop update management.

To monitor this and other deployment statuses, visit the Microsoft Intune admin center.

Summary of changes:

  • Removing scheduled tasks created by the ‘Microsoft Cloud Managed Desktop Extension’ performance plugin which was used to monitor critical hardware components (CPU, Disk, RAM). This performance plugin is currently disabled and hence we are removing the associated Scheduled Tasks.
  • Deploy a standard library of functions used by Microsoft Managed Desktop in scripts and applications. This reduces the amount of redundant code used in our deployed solutions.
  • Fixed the misconfiguration in the pre-release builds which caused a reboot during Autopilot Enrollment Status Page (ESP).
  • The policy “Windows Autopatch – Windows Update Detection Frequency” will be removed from the baseline configuration.
  • Deploy Security baseline update for Windows 11.
