User impact: Users may be unable to use the search functionality in multiple Microsoft 365 services.

Current status: As part of our staged work to implement mitigations, we’re working to perform a targeted configuration change and validate the update on a limited portion of infrastructure. This is intended to prevent further crashes from occurring when the service attempts to process a search query. Due to the complexity of the issue, it’s taking some additional time to fully analyze and validate these mitigations. In parallel, we’re continuing to further develop additional changes that may allow us to expedite the fix and restore search functionality.

Scope of impact: Impact is specific to some users who are served through the affected infrastructure. Customers hosted in any worldwide region may experience impact related to this event; though, the degree of impact can vary. Additionally, we’ve confirmed that there is no impact to any Government Cloud environments.
