User impact: Users’ OME email messages sent through Exchange Online can’t be opened by recipients. More info: This issue prevents recipients that use third-party email clients from opening the encrypted email message. The recipient receives the OME email message but attempts to open the message are met with continuous loading prompts. Current status: We’ve identified that a recent update to Exchange Online wasn’t properly deployed to the affected environment and is missing some scripts necessary to facilitate access to encrypted email, resulting in impact. We’ve redeployed this update and we’re monitoring its progress to determine if impact is remediated. Scope of impact: Impact is specific to users sending OME email messages who are served through the affected infrastructure and their recipients that use third-party email clients. Root cause: A recent update to Exchange Online wasn’t properly deployed to the affected environment and is missing some scripts necessary to facilitate email encryption, resulting in impact.
