More info: This notification concerns persistent user impact resulting from events described in MO545600, which we’ve determined is a significantly rarer occurrence and does not prevent users from accessing any Microsoft 365 services.

We identified the condition through additional customer reports and our own internal validations that a second layer of impact to a small group of search queries is causing some users to receive partial or incomplete results.

Affected queries performed within customized or legacy versions of the search user interface (UI) within Microsoft 365 service platforms may receive an error when encountering this problem, although no error will be shown for occurrences of the issue within the modern search UI.

Current status: We’re finalizing our strategy to comprehensively test our fix in a segment of our service infrastructure. Once completed, we will begin a phased, incrementally expanding deployment to safely propagate our fix across our worldwide production environment.

Scope of impact: While a rare occurrence, any user may experience this issue when running a search query that encounters a functional search index issue.
