User impact: Users’ email through Outlook on the web fail to send if a contact list is added as a recipient to the email.

More info: When affected users select a contact list as the recipient from ‘My Contacts’, the following error message appears after attempting to send the email: ‘This message can’t be sent right now. Please try again later’.

Current status: We ran internal testing and identified that a recent routine service change intended to update a portion of the Outlook on the web backend infrastructure code has resulted in impact. To remediate this issue, we’ve developed and have validated a code fix, and we’re applying this fix to the affected environments. Additionally, we’re monitoring the progression of the fix so that we can calculate a resolution timeline once available.

Scope of impact: This issue may affect any user attempting to send email after adding a contact list as a recipient using Outlook on the web.
