Collaboration security capabilities for Microsoft Teams will be generally available for all users of Microsoft Defender for Office 365.

[When this will happen:]

Your Microsoft Defender for Office 365 subscription is being updated with a new service plan: Collaboration security capabilities for Microsoft Teams will be made generally available for all users by late August 2023. 

[How this will affect your organization:]

Teams’ protection is rolling out to Microsoft Defender for Office 365 customers as indicated in Message Center posts MC649928 and MC567478. This new service plan is in support of these features.

[What you need to do to prepare:]

If you wish to disable Teams protection features for URL blocking, ZAP protection, and user reporting for Teams, you will need to follow instructions referenced in the above noted Message Center posts.
