IT admins can now make better update management decisions with insights from expanded metadata. Windows Update for Business deployment service has expanded its catalog. The main improvements include greater detail about each update and a wider spectrum of update types. Expanded metadata is available for security, non-security, and out-of-band updates. Expanded metadata is available via Microsoft Graph API starting August 22, 2023. 

 

How this will affect your organization: 

If your organization already uses Windows Update for Business deployment service, you can now access more details about more update types all in one place. Previously, and without Windows Update for Business deployment service, you could search for these details manually in separate channels, listed in Additional information.
