User impact: Users’ SharePoint Online news connectors aren’t sending notifications to Microsoft Teams channels.

Current status: We’ve further identified that a recent standard service update inadvertently introduced a regression that caused a dependency call for DSAPI to resolve user details to fail. We’ve developed and started deploying a fix to affected users, which we anticipate will complete by Thursday, September 14, 2023.

Scope of impact: Impact is specific to users with SharePoint Online news connectors configured who are served through the affected infrastructure.

Root cause: A recent standard service update inadvertently introduced a regression that caused a dependency call for DSAPI to resolve user details to fail, causing users’ SharePoint Online news connectors to not send notifications to Microsoft Teams channels as expected.
