User impact: Users may have not seen all Microsoft Teams meeting details on MMD devices via Microsoft Teams or the Outlook calendar. More info: This problem only occurred in organizations where AppLocker was enabled. Impact was specific to users reviewing Microsoft Teams meeting information who enabled the “Try the new Teams” option in Microsoft Teams. The problem occurred in both the Microsoft Teams meeting item and in the Outlook calendar event connected to the meeting. Users could have directly disabled the “Try the new Teams” toggle to have avoided this issue further. Admins could have disabled the option in Microsoft Teams for MMD users to install the new Teams experience. The following link contained instructions for how admins could have disabled the “Try the new Teams” toggle: techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams-blog/enable-the-new-microsoft-teams-toggle-for-your-organization/ba-p/3781345 Final status: We’ve recieved confirmation from the affected users that the issue is resolved and impact is no longer occurring. Scope of impact: Any user may have been impacted if they enabled the “Try the new Teams” option on Microsoft Teams and AppLocker was enabled in their organization’s environment; however, only a small number of users were impacted. Start time: Sunday, July 30, 2023, at 2:00 PM UTC End time: Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 7:59 PM UTC Root cause: A code issue within the AppLocker function that the new Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-In uses was causing the meeting to not generate the Teams meeting information correctly. Next steps: – We’re reviewing our coding procedures to better identify similar issues during our development and testing cycles. This is the final update for the event. |
