With the Planner component, teams that are using the Loop app to collect project info can include plans from Microsoft Planner. When a Planner component is created in the Loop app, everyone can stay in sync, working in a shared space that can also include lists, tables, notes and more.

The component will first be available in the Loop app. Other Loop enabled apps will be supported later, for example, Outlook and Teams.

[When this will happen:]

• The Planner component is now available in the Loop Private Preview at preview.loop.microsoft.com.
• We will begin rolling out to production late September and expect to complete by early October.

[How this will affect your organization:]

Users will be able to view and edit Microsoft Planner plans as a Loop component in the same way that they can view and edit plans in the Planner web app. When pasting the URL for a plan into a Loop page in the Loop app, the URL renders Planner UX embedded in that page so that they can view and edit that plan.

Access to the plan is unaltered when creating a Loop component for that plan – only users who already have access to the plan can view and edit the plan through the component. Users who do not have access to the plan will not be able to view or edit the plan, even if they have access to the Planner component.

Note: If your organization has already taken steps to disable Loop then this rollout will honor that configuration.

[What you need to do to prepare:]

The component will be enabled by default. If you do not want users to be able to use the Planner component, the Planner component can be disabled via a cloud policy setting. See How to turn off the Planner component for your organization for more details.
