User impact: Admins intermittently may not be able to access the Microsoft 365 admin center.

More info: When attempting to access the Microsoft 365 admin center, admins are intermittently directed to a page that says “Switch to an account that has permission. Your account (account name) doesn’t have permission to view or manage this page in the Microsoft 365 admin center.”

Admins may be able to access the Microsoft 365 admin center on retry.

Current status: We’re continuing to investigate the recent change that we suspect is responsible for impact to determine why this behavior is occurring and next steps for remediation. During this investigation, we’ve observed in our service health telemetry that previously observed authentication failures have ceased, and users are able to access the Microsoft 365 admin center. We’re continuing to monitor telemetry to ensure the service remains stable while, in parallel, we investigate the underlying root cause and determine a permanent remediating action.

Scope of impact: This issue may intermittently affect any admin attempting to access the Microsoft 365 admin center.
