More info: Admins received an error which stated: “Failed. Unable to execute the task. Reason: Compliance search initialization for “Test Max Limit” failed with exception: Your request couldn’t be started because the maximum number of jobs for your organization are currently running. Please wait for other jobs to complete and then try again.”

Final status: After reviewing HAR logs of the event, as well as the cmdlets utilized by the search service, we’ve confirmed that a portion of infrastructure which eDiscovery utilizes for content search functionality wasn’t efficiently processing content search requests. We’ve routed content search traffic away from the affected infrastructure, and confirmed with a subset of
admins that impact was successfully remediated.

Scope of impact: This issue only affected admins in North America that were attempting to perform new eDiscovery (Standard) content searches.
