User impact: Users may have been unable to access or use some Microsoft 365 services and features. More info: Impacted services included but may not have been limited to Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online and SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Office apps, Azure Virtual Desktop, Power Apps and Power Automate. Impact to specific users was varied depending on how the user was routed through the affected infrastructure and what service or product they were using. Final status: We’ve completed our monitoring and confirmed that impact has been mitigated. Scope of impact: This may impact any users routed through the affected infrastructure, though most impact appeared for customers hosted within North American and Latin America. Start time: Monday, August 5, 2024, at 6:22 PM UTC End time: Monday, August 5, 2024, at 7:49 PM UTC Preliminary Root cause: A recent configuration change to a portion of the Azure Front Door (AFD) service caused intermittent connections errors, timeouts and latency connecting to Microsoft 365 services. Next steps: We’ll provide a preliminary Post-Incident Report within three business days and a final Post-Incident Report within five business days. |
