Current status: We’ve determined that additional validation of the secondary fix is needed before we deploy it to the impacted environments. We’ve started deploying the fix to our internal testing environment and anticipate the validation may be complete by our next communication update. Once the validation is successful, we’ll aim to provide a resolution timeline.

Scope of impact: Impact may be specific to any admin who is served through the affected infrastructure that’s attempting to access scheduled report links in Microsoft Defender for Identity.

Root cause: A recent update to the Microsoft Defender for Identity portal contained a code issue, causing scheduled report links sent from email notifications or specific reports from the Microsoft Defender portal to link to an older and incompatible portal, resulting in impact.
