More info: Admins may not receive the expected eDiscovery search results within the compliance portal for documents with a label being applied with encryption. The files are showing up in users’ OneDrive accounts but can’t be located with eDiscovery searches.

Current status: We’ve developed the fix and are currently validating it to ensure its effectiveness before deployment to the affected environment. Once validated, we’ll provide a deployment timeline. Simultaneously, we’re preparing a script for affected admins to run within their environment, which will resync the impacted labels with the search service after the fix is deployed, ensuring it takes effect as expected.

Scope of impact: Some admins serviced through the affected infrastructure performing eDiscovery searches through the compliance portal may be impacted.

Root cause: Some components of infrastructure responsible for calling the endpoints required to ingest the affected search results are encountering an error that’s causing the service to incorrectly identify those search results as restricted, leading to impact.
