Current status: We’ve determined that the User Interface (UI) for the new SharePoint Online start experience doesn’t honor the configurations set to disable users from creating new SharePoint Online sites. We’ve developed and begun deployment of a code fix to remove the button when the feature is disabled and we’ll provide a timeline for the completion of the deployment as once becomes available. Scope of impact: Any user attempting to create a new SharePoint Online site in the new SharePoint Online start experience may be impacted.
