User impact: Users may be unable to utilize the search function in Exchange Online.

Current status: We’re finalizing the process of rerouting affected requests to alternate portions of service infrastructure to resolve the remaining impact. In parallel, we’re assessing to confirm whether a separate search component issue may be resulting in similar impact for a subset of users who reported the issue.

Scope of impact: Impact is specific to some users who are served through the affected infrastructure.

Root cause: A recent deployment to a portion of the service infrastructure that supports search functionality was causing the service infrastructure to operate inefficiently while the changes from the deployment saturated, resulting in impact.
