User impact: Users may have been unable to approve or reject email message soft delete actions in the Microsoft Defender XDR Action center.

More info: Affected users may have seen a 404 error when attempting to perform soft delete actions. Impacted Microsoft Defender for Office scenarios included, but weren’t limited to: Proposed remediation and Automated investigation and response (AIR) action approvals. As a workaround for AIR actions, users may have been able to approve actions from the Investigations page in the Microsoft Defender portal. Normal remediation flow was unaffected.

Final status: We’ve identified that a recently scheduled service update as part of routine maintenance had inadvertently casued impact. We’ve reverted the offending update, and have confirmed by monitoring service telemetry that the impact has been resolved.

Scope of impact: Impact was specific to some users, who were served through the affected infrastructure, attempting to approve or reject email message soft delete actions in the Microsoft Defender XDR Action center.
