User impact: Users may see an error and can’t attach Microsoft 365 data to email messages using the new Outlook for Windows.

More info: Impact includes, but is not limited to attaching the following:

– OneDrive for Business content
– SharePoint Online site links
– Loop components
– Copilot output

Affected users may see the following error –

“Need more information. To satisfy your organization’s security policy, an additional step is required.”

While we’re working to remediate this issue, affected users can attach these items using other connection methods, including:

– Outlook on the web
– Classic Outlook
– Outlook desktop clients
– Outlook mobile

Current status: We’ve identified an authentication issue on a portion of impacted infrastructure responsible for attaching Microsoft 365 data to email messages using the new Outlook for Windows. We’re developing a code fix to resolve the underlying issue while simultaneously further reviewing the authentication issue to understand how it was introduced.

Scope of impact: Some user attempting to attach certain Microsoft 365 content to email messages using new Outlook for Windows may be affected.
