Current status: We identified that a recent service update rollout is causing deadlocks during requests for sites and content in SharePoint Online. We’re working to stop the service update rollout and are working on a fix to prevent the deadlocks to remediate the impact. We anticipate having an update on the progress of the fix by the next scheduled update time.
