Latest Message Title: Some users may be unable to receive a confirmation response in Exchange Online

User impact: Users may have been unable to receive a confirmation response in Exchange Online.

More info: Specifically, impacted users may have been unable to receive a confirmation response when Workspace Reservations and Meetings were created.

Final status: We’ve completed our investigation and determined that automation can’t be used to process past confirmation responses. We’ll be publishing a message in the “Issues for your organization to act on” section with steps that can be taken to process past confirmation responses. Regarding new confirmation responses, we’ve validated that our code fix has successfully addressed the problem and restored newly created Workspace Reservations and Meeting confirmations.

Scope of impact: Some users may have been unable to receive a confirmation reply in Exchange Online when Workspace Reservations and Meetings were created.

Start time: Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 3:53 PM UTC

End time: Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 4:51 PM UTC

Root cause: A recent code fix to resolve an unrelated issue introduced a compatibility issue between code that prevented Workspace Reservations and Meetings from processing creations and populating the confirmation reply.

Next steps:
– We’ve defined a manual to outline the steps affected users can follow to reprocess past confirmation responses, and we’re working to provide the manual to all affected users.
– We’re reviewing the code fix that introduced the compatibility issue and how our testing and validation procedures can be improved to detect this prior to deployment, allowing us to prevent similar impact from occurring in the future.

This is the final update for the event.
