More info: We expect the impact to be mitigated for a majority of our users; however, we remain focused on ensuring this incident is fully resolved.<\/p>\n

Users may receive a Non-Delivery Report (NDR) containing an error stating “554 5.6.0 Corrupt message content”.<\/p>\n

Additionally, users may intermittently receive calendar invite email messages as a plain text message containing winmail.dat attachments.<\/p>\n

Users may be able to send affected messages by attempting to resend. This may not be effective for all users.<\/p>\n

Current status: Our worldwide patch has exceeded well above 95 percent saturation across the affected infrastructure and our internal testing continues to affirm that the fix is addressing the issue as expected. We\u2019ll continue monitoring the saturation of the fix as it continues its progression, and we\u2019ll provide updates as they become available.<\/p>\n

In addition, our reproductions of impact have been helpful in our investigation to identify a potential root cause. We\u2019ll continue working on this investigation in parallel with our monitoring. <\/p>\n

Scope of impact: Some users serviced by the impacted portion of infrastructure sending or receiving email in Exchange Online may be affected, although impact is limited to a small subset of messages.<\/p>\n
