Users may receive an NDR containing an error stating “554 5.6.0 Corrupt message content”.<\/p>\n

Additionally, users may intermittently receive calendar invite email messages as a plain text message containing winmail.dat attachments.<\/p>\n

Users may be able to send affected messages by attempting to resend. This may not be effective for all users.<\/p>\n

Current status: The fix to address the underlying issues is in the final stages of validation in our internal environment, and we anticipate that this process will complete by our next scheduled update. We’ll aim to provide an estimated deployment timeline at this time. <\/p>\n

Scope of impact: Some users serviced by the impacted portion of infrastructure sending or receiving email in Exchange Online may be affected, although impact is limited to a small subset of messages.<\/p>\n
