Affected users may receive the following error: “Need more information. To satisfy your organization’s security policy, an additional step is required.”<\/p>\n

While we’re working to remediate this issue, affected users can attach these items using other connection methods, including:<\/p>\n

– Outlook on the web
– Classic Outlook
– Outlook desktop clients
– Outlook mobile<\/p>\n

Current status: We\u2019ve progressed the incremental deployment of the fix to 50 percent of the affected environment, and we\u2019re seeing continued signs of improvement to service health. We anticipate starting the deployment to 100 percent of the environment today and will monitor its progress to ensure it completes as expected to resolve this issue by our next scheduled update.<\/p>\n

Scope of impact: Some users attempting to attach certain Microsoft 365 content to email messages using the new Outlook for Windows may be affected.<\/p>\n

Root cause: An authentication misconfiguration on a portion of impacted infrastructure responsible for attaching Microsoft 365 data to email messages using the new Outlook for Windows is causing impact.<\/p>\n
