More info: This notification concerns persistent user impact resulting from events described in MO545600, which we’ve determined is a significantly rarer occurrence and does not prevent users from accessing any Microsoft 365 services. <\/p>\n

We identified the condition through additional customer reports and our own internal validations that a second layer of impact to a small group of search queries is causing some users to receive partial or incomplete results.<\/p>\n

Affected queries performed within customized or legacy versions of the search user interface (UI) within Microsoft 365 service platforms may receive an error when encountering this problem, although no error will be shown for occurrences of the issue within the modern search UI.<\/p>\n

Current status: We\u2019ve confirmed that applying the fix in our test environment is sufficient to resolve the problem. We\u2019re working to begin a live test within a Microsoft production environment to further validate the fix before initiating broad deployment to all affected environments. If successful, we will begin this process as early as 4:30 PM UTC on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, and we\u2019ll provide ongoing updates once this action is underway.
Additionally, we\u2019re working in-parallel to confirm that the Search service continues performing as expected in our test environment following removal of the prior changes implemented to mitigate impact described to customers in MO545600. <\/p>\n

Scope of impact: While a rare occurrence, any user may experience this issue when running a search query that encounters a functional search index issue.<\/p>\n
