Tenants currently using EAM in Public Preview   should review the changes below.<\/p>\n<p>  <\/p>\n<p><b>[When this will happen]<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Registration enforcement begins December 8, 2025.<\/p>\n<p><b>[How this affects your organization]<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Who is affected:<\/b> Tenants currently using External Authentication Methods (EAM) in Public Preview.<\/p>\n<p><b>What will happen:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Registration enforcement: Users must have an external authentication method registered to use EAM.<\/li>\n<li>In-line registration for new users:<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Existing users have been registered by Microsoft C which means there\u2019s no action required.<\/li>\n<li>New users (any user joining your tenant after December 2, 2025) will be prompted during sign-in to complete in-line setup with your external provider.<\/li>\n<li>IT admins can register users on their behalf if needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>[What you can do to prepare]<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communicate to users that starting December 8, 2025, they may be prompted to configure an external method during sign-in if they don\u2019t already have one.<\/li>\n<li>Review your external authentication method configurations to ensure they meet validation requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Update internal documentation, training materials, and helpdesk
