This update provides a more flexible, consumption-based pricing model aligned with how organizations use AI workloads.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft CopilotCrelated indicators will continue to be available based on existing license and not moving to pay-as-you-go (PAYG) billing model&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This message is associated with <b>Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/microsoft-365\/roadmap?filters=&amp;searchterms=557548\" target=\"_blank\">  557548<\/a><\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><b>[When this will happen]<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>General Availability (Worldwide)<\/b>: We will begin rolling out in early <b>  April&nbsp;2026 <\/b>and expect to complete in<b>&nbsp;April 2026<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>[How this affects your organization]<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>Who is affected<\/i>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Insider Risk Management administrators using <b><i>Generative AI apps \u2192 Other AI apps<\/i><\/b> indicators.<\/li>\n<li>Organizations that use AI applications beyond Microsoft Copilot and process insider risk signals from those apps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>What will happen<\/i>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Other AI apps indicators will transition to a PAYG model.<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>Billing begins <b>April&nbsp;1, 2026<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Charges are based on the <b>number of user activities processed<\/b> for these indicators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Microsoft Copilot experiences indicators remain license-based and<\/b>&nbsp;will continue working even without an Azure subscription.<\/li>\n<li>If there is an active subscription, then billing will automatically happen based on indicator usage in the policy<\/li>\n<li>To continue using <b>Other AI apps<\/b> indicators:\n<ul>\n<li>An <b>Azure subscription must be linked<\/b> to Microsoft Purview for billing enablement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The following indicator will move to the PAYG model:\n<ul>\n<li><b>&#8220;Entering risky prompt in Other AI apps&#8221;<\/b> under <i><b>Policy indicators \u2192 Generative AI apps \u2192 Other AI apps<\/b><\/i>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>No change to policy configuration workflows or existing permissions.<\/li>\n<li>No user impact unless organizations choose to onboard AI activity signals through PAYG indicators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>[What you can do to prepare]<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Link an <b>Azure subscription<\/b> to Microsoft Purview to enable PAYG billing.
