This change simplifies the Recap experience by focusing on manual creation and editing, while allowing Microsoft to continue investing in other Copilot capabilities across Microsoft 365.   The retirement applies only to Copilot\u2011generated Recaps and does not affect other Copilot features in  <i>Microsoft Loop<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p><b>[When this will happen]<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>General Availability (Worldwide): <\/b>The retirement will begin in <b>early May 2026<\/b> and is expected to be completed in<b>&nbsp;late May 2026<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><b>[How this affects your organization]<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>Who is affected<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 25px\">All Microsoft 365 tenants using Microsoft Loop<\/p>\n<p><i>What will happen<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The ability to <b>generate Recaps by using&nbsp;Copilot will be removed from the Recap experience<\/b> in  <i>Microsoft Loop<\/i>.<\/li>\n<li>Users will no longer be able to generate Recaps using Copilot.<\/li>\n<li>Users <b>can continue to manually create<\/b> and edit Recaps.<\/li>\n<li>This change will be <b>on by default<\/b> and cannot be configured or reversed by admins.<\/li>\n<li>Other Copilot features in <i>Microsoft Loop<\/i> will not be affected.<\/li>\n<li>No admin configuration or policy changes will be required.<\/li>\n<li>In<i> Microsoft Loop<\/i>, the Recap entry point will no longer display the \u201c<i>With AI<\/i>\u201d label or sparkle icon:\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 400px\" alt=\"user settings\" src=\"https:\/\/cxcs.microsoft.net\/static\/public\/messagecenter\/neutral\/30ae4ed8-366a-4a05-a57f-cfff1dba44d4\/0644748c094ffdf61105e3a1e28f1e5ab5cdb502.png\"><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;The Recap experience will remain available for manual creation and editing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>[What you can do to prepare]<\/b><\/p>\n<p>No action is required.<\/p>\n<p>Optionally:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Update internal training or help documentation to remove references to Copilot\u2011generated Recaps in  <i>Microsoft Loop<\/i>.<\/li>\n<li>Inform helpdesk staff so they can address potential user questions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Learn more:&nbsp;<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/office\/recap-changes-in-loop-with-copilot-e0044a51-6919-46bf-8dac-2e4f300988d5?__prettifying=true\" target=\"_blank\">Recap changes in Loop with Copilot | Microsoft Support<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>[Compliance considerations]<\/b><\/p>\n<table class=\"table table-bordered\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Question<\/b><\/td>\n<td><b>Answer<\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Does the change introduce or significantly modify AI\/ML or agent capabilities that interact with customer data?<\/td>\n<td>Yes.
