Final status: Our fix has completed deployment and we’ve confirmed through monitoring service health telemetry as well as through testing with a subset of affected admins that the impact has been remediated.<\/p>\n

Scope of impact: Some admins attempting to perform tenant to tenant migrations and offboarding moves in the Exchange admin center may have been affected.<\/p>\n

Root cause: A change introduced a code regression to Mailbox Replication Service (MRS), which causes intermittent failures for tenant-to-tenant migration actions or offboarding moves as the property tags needed to complete the request were not being properly configured.<\/p>\n

Next steps:
– We’re investigating the impacting change to establish why the code regression wasn’t addressed within our pre-deployment testing process. The results of the investigation will help us improve our update processes and help establish ways to improve the service.<\/p>\n
