[What and Why]<\/b><\/p>\n

We are updating the Microsoft Teams PowerShell module to use Web Account Manager (WAM) <\/b>as the default authentication broker for sign-in. This change improves security and provides a more consistent authentication experience on Windows.<\/p>\n

A new temporary parameter, -DisableWAM,<\/b> is available in the Connect-MicrosoftTeams cmdlet<\/i>, allowing admins to bypass WAM for a single connection if it is not supported in their environment.<\/p>\n

This change is available starting with preview version 7.8.1 of the Teams PowerShell module<\/b>.<\/p>\n

        • Connect-MicrosoftTeams with AccountId (-AccountId, Integrated Windows Authentication)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
        • The following sign-in methods are not affected<\/b>:\n
            \n
          • Service principal with certificate<\/li>\n
          • Managed identity<\/li>\n
          • Pre-acquired access tokens<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
          • A temporary -DisableWAM<\/b> parameter is available to bypass WAM for a single connection.<\/li>\n
          • The -DisableWAM<\/b> parameter will be removed in a future release.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
