Microsoft Teams now maintains an index of all of the apps (and the corresponding versions) a user has consented to. Using this index, an app is automatically updated in real time everywhere it is installed for the user. After the user updates the app in any one context, the updated version is available in all other installed contexts, without any other user action.<\/p>\n

With the simplified app update experience, apps that require new permissions must be manually updated. After the app is updated in one place, it is updated everywhere that has the matching permissions. An app with an update that doesn’t require new permissions automatically updates without any explicit user action.<\/p>\n

With the simplified app update experience, apps are automatically updated based on the admin policies defined by you.<\/p>\n

For apps that require users to accept new permissions, the app details page has a What’s new<\/i> tab that highlights any changes to the app. This tab mentions any required updates to permissions.<\/p>\n

Users can keep their apps updated to the latest version by upgrading just one time. Badging appears beside Manage your apps<\/i> at the bottom of the Apps<\/i> <\/b>pane, and beside the Apps<\/i> <\/b>tab on the Manage team<\/i> page.<\/p>\n
