Microsoft Whiteboard is retiring the standalone Whiteboard applications for Windows, iOS, and Android. Beginning October 16, 2026, the standalone Microsoft Whiteboard apps will no longer be supported for work or school accounts and personal Microsoft accounts. Users should access Whiteboard through Microsoft Teams and supported web experiences going forward. After the retirement date, already-installed standalone apps will display a retirement experience and will no longer provide access to Whiteboard galleries or existing Whiteboard content.<\/p>\n

This post is a follow-up reminder to MC1441775 (Microsoft Whiteboard: Retirement of legacy whiteboards and transition to OneDrive-backed whiteboards) and focuses on the upcoming retirement of the standalone Microsoft Whiteboard applications.<\/p>\n

This change only affects the standalone applications. Whiteboard functionality available through Microsoft Teams continues to be supported. Organizations that have already adopted Teams-based Whiteboard experiences will experience minimal impact.<\/p>\n
